While in Ft Myers we saw several Tiki huts labeled as Chickee bar. Of course, we just thought this was a word play on a place where sun bathing beauties go to drinks. Ahhhh, but not so fast little drink of water. Going to the brain, she says that, “Chickee” is the Seminole word for home or gathering place. Chickee houses are commonly referred to as the more familiar Polynesian term “Tiki Huts”. Hey, lots of bikinis under one roof by any other name is still prodigious. Arrrrr it means awesome! Matey.
