Moore Haven, FL
We took a short 20 mile ride to Moore Haven City Docks. The docks are in good shape and have good electric and water. The current was strong because the amount of water the dam was letting out of the lake but we managed to dock fairly easily. It was a nice sunny day. We waited for our friends from KY, Daryl and Cathy. They were driving down to get out of the cold weather for a couple weeks. A fellow boater who was on the docks advised us that it was Steak night at the local bar around the corner, so we decided to try that. The place was a little rough on the outside but, it was great! Never judge a book by it’s cover.
Next day we traveled to Dave and Barb’s place to check it out and do some fishing. Everyone caught fish except Chris. We had a great time. They have a great place on a canal right near the lake.
The next day we went to a flea market in Okeechobee and then had to wet our whistle at a local bar. That night we watched the Super bowl at Adam’s Angler Reef and had great hamburgers. Most people there were rooting for Denver but Janis was rooting for SC. (Sorry Janis).
