GoParaiso Travels to Frankfort, Ky via Kentucky River

For the first time in over 20 years the 4 Kentucky River locks will be open for the 63 mile travel from the Ohio River to Frankfort. Few people have had the opportunity to make this trip. The passage will be a mixture of Tom-Bigbee meets Erie canal. Paraiso will take a scouting excursion with several boats on June 5. We will leave Pier 99 in the Markland pool MM530 on 6/4. If interested send me an email. The locals are very eager to make this new route a success and is a labor of love between local gov, volunteers, and small businesses. We will gather local phone #, web contacts, and the whos-who if anyone is interested in an extended side trip. In addition to the lock openings below, they can try to arrange a ” volunteer runner” to open the locks during the week. the following link gets you started, http://finance.ky.gov/offices/kra/Pages/default.aspx
